No Fluoride in Water Anytime Soon

I hope the sups get their heads out of their behinds and NEVER fluoridate our water supply. Despite how anyone may feel about fluoride, I don't see why we should pay to stick it in our water. For once, I'm with Glass, a lot of money for unmeasurable benefit. Plus, who the heck are they to decide what's best for everyone's health in Sonoma County?
If people want to take fluoride, let them make that decision themselves and do it on their dime.
GEEZ
ALSO, Jurina Smida is the WORST dentist on the planet. Read her Yelp reviews, she's a scam artist and should have her license revoked. I wouldn't trust anything that woman has to say!

Seriously?! Immeasurable?! Did you even bother to look or just decide to make up a "fact" to support your position? Actually, the Return on Investment for fluoride in water is between 30 to 1 and 40 to 1 depending on your study. Most of those are good, case controlled studies too. No I am not overly invested in this topic, but I happened to see it and your position was far too uninformed to let slide. And I happen to know the above statistics because I read them long ago when I was getting my Master's Degree in Public Health, so you see, I do know what I am talking about. Not putting fluoride in the water is about the dumbest thing the city could do. Not to sure what other investments are out there that have that kind of return.
Please check your facts in the future. Anything less is offensive to a public debate on issues.

um , public health officials? that's kinda their job.
if the water got tainted and you got sick, who would you call? SAME PEOPLE.

I can't believe there is still a debate about fluoride.
I grew up in the country on well water and probably have a cavity in every single tooth in my mouth. The ones I still have left, that is.
My kids--now in their 30's, all had fluoride treatments as kids and never had a single filling--ever.
The ostriches have too much influence.

I can't believe anyone would want to put another chemical in our water.
If you want fluoride, buy fluoride toothpaste or get fluoride treatments at the dentist! Easy obvious solutions.
People with kidney problems, people on dialysis, elderly folks and infants may not be able to tolerate added fluoride in their drinking water.

Neurotoxicity of Fluoride
(statement from Phyllis Mullenix, Ph.D) Research shows that exessive exposure to fluoride causes impaired memory and concentration, lethargy, headache, depression and confusion. (www.fluoridealert.org)
[*]115 Alaska towns* halted fluoridation after Hooper Bay's fatal fluoridation accident**
[*]Fluoride evaluation to be listed as a carcinogen*** by the State of California

The EWG is NOT the state of California. In Alaska the problem was a failed well lift pump. In Okinawa the problem was the concentration levels. You should read a bit closer.

Yeah my kids already get fluoride pills. I don't and I'm fine brushing my teeth and using a dental rinse. Are we doing this for people who can't afford to go to the dentist? I rather have crisp, clean, pure water.

If you are concerned about fluoridated water for your pets (dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, fish and larger animals), read up on the horrors of fluoride toxicity. POISON! Lots of info if you google it.
Personally, I don't want to bathe or shower or shampoo with fluoridated water. Nor do I want to drink it, cook with it or swim in it.

Someone mentioned that kids really don't drink much tap water. They drink bottled water, juice, sports drinks and (unfortunately) sodas.
I have a question......do refrigerator filters and under-the-sink water filter units remove fluoride?
