How to help Little Leaguers
The Petaluma Team needs your help. You can donate here:

Since Target and Regency, and Friedman's Mall will soon be Petaluma tenants, and will save the city, maybe they can also pony up with some funds. Atletica, Enphase, Citrix, LowePro, Camel Back, any and all corps based in Petaluma should be proud of the kids and show some support. Who will and who won't?
A fund has been set up to help support the Petaluma National Little League All-Star team in its trip to Williamsport, Penn. and the Little League World Series.
Little League International covers most costs for players and coaches, but additional funds are needed for items not covered by Little League and to help defray expenses of parents who provide much needed support for the players.
To find out how to contribute, visit the Petaluma National Little League website at http://petalumanational.org.

Re: How to help Little Leaguers
Hotel Petaluma was contacted by an organization asking us to advertise on a little league poster, on inquiring as to how much of the cost of the advert went to the league, we were told 35%, they keep 65%. I told them we would rather send a check directly to the team.

Re: How to help Little Leaguers
The local Little League organizations are 100% volunteer run organizations. I have never heard of one of the local leagues contracting out for donation collection. I would be extremely skeptical of this person asking you to help the league. Typically with a local Little League organization, the person you hand the check to is a volunteer. They will take your check and hand it to another volunteer (treasurer) who will deposit your check. Then every penny of your donation will be spent directly on the league. Not a percentage, no administrative costs. 100% of your donation directly to the local league is spent operating the local league.
Would like to know who the organization was that was asking you for money.
