bridge tickets

Postby russet » Sat Mar 23, 2013 6:29 am

Am I the only one that thinks the place to pay for a golden gate bridge 1 day pass should be at the visitors center? Its where tourists would go and it has plenty of parking. Why in the heck would it be put at the check cash center on Petaluma Blvd. where its busy as hell and there is no place to park? Who thought of that?

I'm sorry I should of said a paid one time pass across the bridge not day pass. Its if you know you are going to cross the bridge within 30 days you can pay and get a one time pass (ticket) to cross if you don't have a fast trac or want to be billed for not having one. Its for people who only go to the city maybe 1 time a year .

I only drive into the city a few times a year. I'm happy to let them bill me. with any luck their camera will go out and I'll get a free ride that day.

On the one-time toll ticket, do you still have to stop and hand the ticket to someone or put it in a machine? I wish they would have kept one lane open with a human toll-taker for occasional drivers or tourists to pay in ca$h.

A single toll pass is the most ridiculous idea they've had yet. Just drive through and let them send you a bill. And for gosh sakes, you can get through that toll at 40mph+ so don't slow down to a crawl and get rear ended.

heard on the radio that its 25 through the bridge not 40 and I think when you buy the ticket its electronic and goes by the license plate you gave when you bought the ticket. When you go through the toll area its reads your plate and knows you paid. I Think.

Yes, it's 25. But that doesn't mean you can't get through there faster. I can't see why prepaying for a one day pass has any advantage over getting a bill later.
