Why so many haters in Petaluma now?

I'm not sure what you're talking about, and forgive my ignorance, but is this the tribe that is building the very large casino in Rohnert Park? No one should hate your group, but there are things that are troubling about Native American casinos. Since tribal land is considered sovereign, environmental laws do not have to be followed. Since tribes are sovereign they do not have to account for the monies spent nor monies taken in. The operation of the casinos are usually by a Las Vegas operation. I am a registered member of a non-California tribe which has a casino. They are tight lipped as can be about their casino, even to the tribal members. These are the types of things that make non-tribal members feel resentful and have suspicions, even though the Native American casino movement is supposedly part of the restitution for wrongs done against the tribes well over 100 years ago.

Upon investigation I see that Dry Creek is of the River Rock casino. My feelings regarding Native American casinos stands, but what do you mean by so much hate in Petaluma? I see that your tribe has had much recent strife. Can you clarify your feelings?

The tribe that owns River Rock also owns a parcel of land just south of Petaluma. Petaluma is trying to get the water rights to this land from Marin County to prevent any future casino being built there. The tribe may seek to build there as the Rohnert Park casino just off 101 will probably greatly negatively impact their farther north, out of the way casino.

I understand now. I'm thinking the casino market is going to become over saturated if it is not already. Perhaps the tribes need to come up with a new angle besides casinos and tobacco.

Wow, sorry Dry Creek Pomos, but by the look of this forum, no one is concerned about your cause. I don't think they hate you though, just the thought of another casino.
